Hi!
Happy one year of watching movies together! Thanks to all of you, we’ve built such a beautiful community of film lovers, and for that, I’m so grateful. I had no idea what I was aiming for when I started this club last September, but it’s surpassed any and all expectations.
To many more movies, meet-ups, parties, and friendships.
See you at the movies next week!

“Hello! My name is Will. Originally from Detroit, went to school at KU and now live in DC and I love movies!
I’m a huge fan of all the Detroit sports teams, Kansas Jayhawks, and Michigan Wolverines. I also love cats and you can sometimes find me playing and hosting trivia at Wonderland Ballroom. I also was on Jeopardy when Alex Trebek was the host and I won $71,000 due to my extensive knowledge of movies!”
Q&A — What is your…
Handle: waedawson
So bad, it’s good movie: The Room! Gotta go with Tommy Wiseau’s classic.
Most watched movie: The Big Lebowski, The Princess Bride, Rear Window; The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. All four of these movies have great performances, great writing, and they all make me happy.
Lowest rated movie: I honestly can’t stand Boondock Saints. While I do love me some Willem Dafoe, he’s completely terrible in it. It’s honestly my least favorite movie of all time. I also think that people who legitimately like this movie have no taste in film.
Favorite director: Alfred Hitchcock
Controversial movie take: The Last Jedi is the third best Star Wars movie
Everyone must see movie: If we are going with an understanding of what a typical movie everyone should see, I got to go with Rear Window. It’s got suspense, great dialogue, amazing performances, and its themes of voyeurism make it one of the greatest movies ever made.
Most anticipated movie of the year: I’ve seen so many this year! But upcoming I definitely want to check out the new Nosferatu. I like Robert Eggers and I do love me some Willem Dafoe, plus it looks cool.
